Steve founded Black Watch Premier (BWP Albany & BWP Burlington) in 1997.

He is the current Sporting Director for the club as well as President/Chief Executive Officer and played a central role in the partnering with the New York Red Bulls in their Academy Affiliate Program which is part of the MLS Youth Affiliate Network.

His passion is for coaching and holds the USSF National B License and USC Premier Diploma (Formerly held USSF National A License for 16 years, expired). He currently coaches the BWP Albany Boys 2000/01s, 2005s and 2006s.

Steve is profoundly interested in coaching education and player development. He is currently a USC National Staff member, and has been involved with many player development programs like the Super Y League National Camp, the US Club Soccer ID2 National Camps.

Freeman was also a board member on National Board of Directors for US Club Soccer for 6 years. Steve also served as the Director of Coaching at Latham Circle Soccer Club for 2 years.

Steve is passionate about the sport of soccer and teaching the game to the next generation of elite players. Freeman has been a public elementary school teacher since 1999, and holds his Master’s Degree in Teacher Education/Staff Development.

Freeman played collegiately at the Division I level, professionally and semi-professionally for 6 years. Steve has coached scholastically and collegiately, as both a head coach and assistant coach since 1995. Currently, Freeman is the head coach at the Christian Brothers Academy.
